Simmons, a strong leader, dynamic facilitator, empathetic coach, and business strategist, attained prominence as one of the foremost authorities on Diversity Equity Inclusion and talent management through his work at Simmons Associates, Inc. Simmons Associates was one of the first firms to connect Diversity and Inclusion to organizational success, by carefully aligning Diversity and Inclusion goals with specific business objectives.

As the co-founder of Simmons Associates, Simmons built a consulting firm providing exceptional strategy and guidance to Fortune 500 companies, law firms, governmental agencies, healthcare institutions and non-profit organizations. Simmons Associates’ clients included Johnson & Johnson, PepsiCo, Chrysler, Epstein Becker & Green, Air Products and Chemicals and DuPont among many others.

The cornerstone of Simmons Associates’ success was its ability to guide its clients in implementing Inclusion strategies that delivered enhanced business results, including penetrating diverse and global markets.

Previously, Simmons directed the human resources staff for a major engineering firm. In this role he consulted and coached executives and managers on employee relations, EEO/AA, performance management, hiring and reductions in force. Simmons directed recruiting, on-boarding, compensation and training activities. During his tenure, he reduced operating costs and created business development opportunities through his leadership in local organizations.

Simmons serves on the Board of Trustees of ENABLE Inc., and on the  Board of Directors of the Capital Region Minority Chamber of Commerce. He holds a degree in Industrial Psychology with a minor in Accounting from Baruch College.
